Happy Birthday to me!

Yesterday was my birthday and we went out to eat. First my parents took me out to Blufftop Winery and Restaurant in Rocheport, which is about 15 miles West of Columbia. It has a beautiful view of the river. My parents wanted to take me here for parent’s weekend, but it gets very busy around then so make reservations early. Lunch entrees range from $7-15.

After I had waited a sufficiently long time (enough to get hungry again), we went to Longhorn Steakhouse. Apparently they don’t sing anymore, but I did get a free sundae. They have call ahead system before you leave. Saturday was a very busy night to go in, and we waited for an hour and a half. The steak finally came and we ate its deliciousness. High quality food if you have the time to wait. All in all, GREAT birthday celebration!

Happy Birthday Deals!

So as I was searching for a place to go for my birthday and came across many birthday deals. As for a good place to eat, Applebees is a nice, casual dining experience with people who sing while bringing out a free ice cream sundae. My choice was Longhorn Steakhouse where they sing AND bring a free dessert. I like the singing part. A lot!

The best deals online are where they give free entrees such as Noodles and Co. Signing up online will provide the best deals via email. Also by joining the free ice cream club at Baskin Robbins and Cold Stone Creamery, a coupon is sent via email to get a scoop or concrete, respectively. Yummy. Celebrating birthdays is great with some freebies.

Decorate your door!

Looking for a way to individualize your wooden block of a door? Try something different. My roommate and I have old movie ads: Ghostbusters and Wayne’s World. Some people put photos on their doors. The staple for every door is a white board for leaving messages. Very necessary for messages when way.

By far the most creative door is the one across the hall from us. It is modeled Post a Secret where people send in decorated postcards with their secrets. It is a fun way to get people to participate. Decorate a door where people will want to meet the people behind it.
